USWNT Drops 26-Player October Roster
USWNT manager Emma Hayes announced the roster for three upcoming October friendlies against world No. 13 Iceland and No. 33 Argentina on Thursday, tapping both new and familiar faces for the No. 1 US squad. To provide more opportunities and to manage minutes and rest, Hayes increased the training camp to 26 players, though only 23 will dress for each friendly. With this international window functioning as the team's Olympic gold medal victory tour, every 2024 Olympian automatically earned a roster call-up. Of the 22 Paris Games players, 18 feature on the October roster. Missing stars Tierna Davidson, Trinity Rodman, and Croix Bethune are currently sidelined with injury, while Crystal Dunn is out with a personal commitment. Story by JWS staff

For the first time since 2019, Hannah Green has won wire-to-wire at the BMW Ladies Championship. The Aussie co-led with two others after the first round and then was the solo leader in the clubhouse the rest of the week. She earned her third victory of 2024 joining Nelly Korda and Lydia Ko as players this season to win at least three times and is the first Aussie since Karrie Webb in 2006 to win at least three time in a single season. The day began with a two-stroke cushion for Green at 18-under and she was slow and steady throughout the day. She added to her lead with a birdie on No. 3 before dropping a shot back to down to 18-under with a bogey on No. 7, allowing those below her to close the gap. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Chanettee Wannasaen was having as good of a front nine as you could get. The Dana Open winner begun her day with a birdie on No. 1 before going birdie-eagle-birdie on holes 4, 5 and 6 to tie the lead with Green. She is bogey-free with four birdies. South Africa’s Ashleigh Buhai is in solo-second at 10-under with a double bogey on No. 8 and four birdies. Four players are tied for third at 8-under. Round one’s co-leader Jenny Shin is even on the day through nine holes of play. Lydia Ko is through 13 holes and is 3-under as is Nanna Koerstz Madsen with Madsen through 11 holes.
